Company intelligence / Profile preview
Musher Brothers (and its successor Musher & Company) was a historical pharmaceutical and food science firm active in the early to mid-20th century, primarily known for its pioneering work in antioxidants and cereal-derived stabilizers. Founded by the Musher family, including Sidney Musher, the company specialized in the development of oat-derived products such as Avenex and Avenin, which were used to prevent rancidity in fats and oils. Their research laid the groundwork for modern food preservation and the use of natural antioxidants in both nutritional and dermatological applications. While the company is no longer active in its original form, its legacy continues through the Musher Foundation and the scientific contributions of its founders to the field of lipid chemistry.
