Mylan Bertek

Mylan Bertek Pharmaceuticals was the branded specialty division of Mylan, established to manage the development and commercialization of proprietary pharmaceutical products. The entity was formed following Mylan's 1993 acquisition of Bertek Inc., a company that specialized in transdermal drug delivery systems and specialty brands. Mylan Bertek focused on several key therapeutic areas, including dermatology, neurology, and cardiovascular health, and was responsible for marketing notable products such as Mentax and InnoPran XL. During the mid-2000s, Mylan integrated its branded and generic operations more closely, eventually phasing out the Bertek name in favor of a unified Mylan brand. Following the 2020 merger between Mylan and Pfizer's Upjohn division, the legacy assets and operations of Mylan Bertek are now part of Viatris. The company played a critical role in Mylan's transition from a pure-play generics manufacturer to a diversified pharmaceutical firm.
