MysticMD Inc. was an advanced materials and medical technology company focused on the development of carbon nanotube (CNT) applications for the healthcare and diagnostics sectors. Founded in 2003 by serial entrepreneurs Heidi and Joel Douglas, the company specialized in proprietary CNT formulations used for high-precision coating solutions and electrochemical biosensors. Its primary medical application was the development of next-generation electrochemical blood glucose monitoring test strips designed to improve accuracy and reduce costs for diabetes management. Based in Groton, Connecticut, MysticMD was a member of the UConn Technology Incubation Program and received investment from the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology before exiting in 2009.
