NAMI Mobile

NAMI Mobile is a non-profit affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) serving the Mobile, Alabama region. The organization provides free mental health support, education, and advocacy for individuals living with mental illness and their families through signature programs such as NAMI Basics, Family-to-Family, and Peer-to-Peer. In 2023, NAMI Mobile received an Alkermes Inspiration Grant to implement an innovative virtual reality (VR) training program for law enforcement, designed to improve empathy and de-escalation skills during mental health crises. The organization plays a critical role in the local healthcare ecosystem by bridging gaps in mental health services and reducing stigma through community engagement and strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and local health systems.
