Company intelligence / Profile preview
Nano Retina developed the NR600 System, an active implantable bionic eye designed to restore rudimentary vision in patients with severe visual impairment due to retinal degenerative diseases. The system included a tiny retinal implant and external smart glasses that powered and communicated with the device. Early clinical studies aimed to demonstrate safety and performance but were ultimately discontinued due to lack of investor support; the company ceased operations in spring 2024 before reaching commercialization or late-stage trials.
