Nanolymf

Nanolymf was an Israeli biotechnology company that developed a nanotechnology-based drug delivery platform to enhance the oral bioavailability of lipophilic drugs. Spun off from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2006 and operating as a subsidiary of the Shizim Group, the company utilized a proprietary double-coated nanocapsule technology to bypass intestinal and liver metabolic filters. This approach aimed to convert injectable treatments into oral formulations, with a lead program focused on the immunosuppressant tacrolimus for organ transplant patients. The technology was designed to overcome barriers such as P-glycoprotein efflux and cytochrome P450 metabolism in the gut and liver. Despite promising preclinical results in animal models, the company was voluntarily dissolved in 2024.
