NanoVector was a biotechnology company that developed a proprietary drug delivery platform based on plant virus nanoparticles. The company's technology, derived from the Red Clover Necrotic Mosaic Virus (RCNMV), was engineered to encapsulate and deliver therapeutic payloads such as small molecules, RNA, and proteins. By functionalizing the exterior of these nanoparticles with targeting ligands, NanoVector aimed to improve the precision and efficacy of treatments for oncology, particularly glioblastoma. The platform was designed to be biocompatible, biodegradable, and capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier. Although the company is no longer active, its research contributed significantly to the field of viral-based nanomedicine.
