Nasdaq Global Funds

Nasdaq Global Funds, Inc. was a subsidiary of Nasdaq, Inc. (formerly The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc.) that served as the sponsor for various exchange-traded funds (ETFs), most notably the Nasdaq-100 Trust (QQQ). Founded in 1998 as Nasdaq Financial Products Services, Inc., the company was responsible for the creation and management of investment products tracking Nasdaq indices. In 2007, Nasdaq transferred the sponsorship of its ETF business, including the QQQ, to PowerShares (now Invesco), effectively exiting the direct fund sponsorship business. While the company was a major player in the financial markets, it is not a biotechnology or healthcare company, although it sponsored funds that included many biotech firms.
