Company intelligence / Profile preview
National City Equity Partners was the private equity and mezzanine investment arm of National City Corporation, a major regional bank based in Cleveland, Ohio. The firm focused on providing equity and debt capital to middle-market companies for buyouts, recapitalizations, and growth initiatives across various industries. While the firm maintained a diverse portfolio, it operated as a financial investment entity rather than a biotechnology or life sciences research organization. It did not develop therapeutic products, maintain a clinical pipeline, or engage in drug discovery. Following the acquisition of National City Corporation by PNC Financial Services Group in December 2008, the group's operations were integrated into the acquiring company's structure. Consequently, the firm is no longer active as an independent entity under the National City brand.
