National Development and Research Institutes (NDRI) was a prominent non-profit research organization dedicated to the study of substance abuse and its impact on public health. Founded in 1967, the institute became a leader in behavioral and social science research, focusing on the epidemiology, prevention, and treatment of drug addiction and related infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. NDRI was primarily funded through competitive grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and was instrumental in developing evidence-based public health policies.
