National Institute for Health Innovation

The National Institute for Health Innovation (NIHI) is a leading research institute and contract research organization (CRO) based at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Established in 1989, NIHI specializes in the design, management, and analysis of large-scale clinical trials and the development of innovative health technologies. The institute's research focus areas include the prevention and management of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes, as well as public health interventions for tobacco and alcohol addiction. NIHI provides a full suite of services to academic, government, and commercial clients, including biostatistics, data management, and digital health solution development. In 2025, the institute transitioned its operations to the Human Health Research Services (HHRS) Platform to further scale its impact in the health research sector.
