National Institute of Diagnostics

The National Institute of Diagnostics and Vaccine Development (NIDVD) is a leading Chinese biotechnology entity established through a partnership between Xiamen University and Beijing Wantai Biological Pharmacy. NIDVD focuses on the research and development of innovative vaccines and high-performance diagnostic reagents for infectious diseases. The institute is notably responsible for developing the world's first Hepatitis E vaccine (Hecolin) and China's first domestically produced HPV vaccine (Cecolin). Their work spans from basic research to clinical development and commercialization, primarily targeting viral hepatitis, cervical cancer, and emerging respiratory viruses.
