Company intelligence / Profile preview
The Natural Gourmet Institute (NGI) was a pioneering culinary school focused on health-supportive and plant-based cooking. Founded in 1977 by Dr. Annemarie Colbin, it became the first licensed school to offer a professional program dedicated to the relationship between food and health. The institute's curriculum emphasized whole foods, seasonal ingredients, and therapeutic nutrition. NGI trained thousands of chefs and health professionals in the principles of wellness-oriented gastronomy. In 2019, the school's assets and curriculum were acquired by the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE), where its legacy continues as a specialized plant-based program.
