Company intelligence / Profile preview
Navidea Biopharmaceuticals is a U.S. precision-diagnostics and radiopharmaceutical company focused on immuno-targeted imaging agents and related therapeutic applications. Its best-known product is Lymphoseek, a technetium Tc 99m tilmanocept radiopharmaceutical approved for sentinel lymph node mapping in several cancers, although U.S. commercial rights were sold to Cardinal Health while Navidea retained certain development interests outside that core business. The company has built additional programs around its Manocept platform, which targets CD206-expressing activated macrophages for diagnostic and potential therapeutic use in cancer, autoimmune disease, and inflammatory disorders. Navidea has also advanced programs including NAV4694 for beta-amyloid PET imaging, RIGScan/NAV1800 for TAG-72-targeted surgical oncology applications, and tilmanocept-based imaging studies in rheumatoid arthritis and NASH. As of 2025, the company remained in operation but filed for Chapter 11, Subchapter V bankruptcy protection while continuing to describe itself as active.
