NDCHealth was a prominent provider of health information services and technology solutions, catering to pharmacies, hospitals, and physician practices. The company specialized in electronic data interchange (EDI) for healthcare claims processing, pharmacy management software, and clinical information systems. Its primary mission was to facilitate the secure and efficient exchange of data between healthcare stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and patient care. In 2005, the company divested its pharmaceutical data analytics business to Wolters Kluwer. Subsequently, in early 2006, the remainder of NDCHealth was acquired by McKesson Corporation for approximately $1.15 billion. The acquisition allowed McKesson to significantly expand its footprint in the healthcare IT and pharmacy services sectors.
