Company intelligence / Profile preview
NEMOD Biotherapeutics was a Berlin-based biotechnology company specializing in the discovery and development of novel cancer immunotherapies. The company focused on targeting tumor-specific carbohydrate structures, known as glyco-epitopes, which are uniquely expressed or exposed on cancer cells but absent in healthy tissues. Its lead research programs included PankoMab, a glyco-optimized monoclonal antibody targeting a specific epitope of Mucin 1, and the NEMOD-TF vaccine targeting the Thomsen-Friedenreich antigen. NEMOD was a spin-off from the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine and played a pioneering role in the field of glyco-immunology. In 2001, the company was acquired by Glycotope, where its proprietary technologies and pipeline served as the foundation for the GlycoExpress platform.
