Neurevo

Neurevo is a Munich-based biotechnology company and spin-off from the Ludwig-Maximilian University (LMU) of Munich and the Max-Planck Society. The company is dedicated to developing first-in-class neuroprotective treatments for serious neurodegenerative and acute neurological disorders, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), stroke, and Parkinson's disease. Neurevo's proprietary technology platform is based on patent-protected formulations of glycolic acid and D-lactate, which are natural metabolites of the DJ-1 protein. These substances work by protecting mitochondrial function, reducing intracellular calcium-mediated excitotoxicity, and restoring cellular energy production. The company has received Orphan Drug Designation from both the EMA and FDA for its ALS program and is preparing to advance its lead candidates into clinical trials.
