NeuroBiotec (later renamed Axxonis Pharma AG) was a German biotechnology company founded in 2001 and headquartered in Berlin. The company focused on developing innovative therapies for central nervous system (CNS) disorders, with a primary emphasis on neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson's disease and restless legs syndrome. Its core development strategy centered on novel formulations of lisuride, a potent dopamine agonist, including subcutaneous infusion and transdermal patch delivery systems. Despite advancing several candidates into Phase 3 clinical trials and establishing strategic partnerships with firms like Prestwick Pharmaceuticals, the company faced financial challenges and was dissolved around 2010.
