Overview
Neurokin was a French biotech spin-out from INSERM (founded in Marseille in 2003) dedicated to developing neuroprotective drugs for acute neurological disorders. Its lead candidate, NK-102, showed proof-of-concept efficacy in animal models of stroke and epilepsy by inhibiting neuronal apoptosis and glial cell proliferation. The company secured €1.5M public funding circa late-2010 to support preclinical work with academic collaborators at INSERM units; the goal was to enter clinical development around or after ~2012. There is no recent information indicating ongoing activity or further clinical progress.
