Neuroscience Research and Development Group (NRDG) was a specialized clinical research organization (CRO) and consultancy that played a pivotal role in the design and execution of clinical trials for central nervous system (CNS) disorders. Founded by Dr. Richard Keefe, a prominent expert in neurocognition, the group provided high-level strategic consulting, trial methodology, and cognitive assessment services to the pharmaceutical industry. NRDG was particularly influential in the development of the MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB) and other standardized tools for measuring treatment effects in schizophrenia and Alzheimer's disease. The company eventually merged with NeuroCog Trials to form VeraSci, which was later acquired by WCG (WIRB-Copernicus Group) in 2021. The group's legacy continues through the widespread adoption of its cognitive assessment methodologies in global CNS drug development programs.
