Company intelligence / Profile preview
NewBase (stylized as nuBase) was a German biotechnology company based in Halle (Saale) that specialized in the development of next-generation RNA-targeting therapies. The company's core technology, the Peptide-based Antisense Technology (PAT) platform, utilized peptide-nucleic acids (PNAs) to target genetic diseases at the source by modulating gene expression. NewBase was acquired in 2019 by the US-based NuBase Therapeutics to serve as its European research hub and technology foundation. The company focused on high-value targets including Huntington's disease, Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1, and KRAS-driven cancers. However, following the liquidation of its parent company, NuBase Therapeutics, in late 2023, NewBase's operations have ceased.
