New England Health Care Foundation

The New England Health Care Foundation, now known as the Tufts Medical Center Physicians Organization, is a non-profit healthcare organization and physician group associated with Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Historically, the foundation served as the corporate entity for the medical center's faculty physicians and was involved in significant clinical research initiatives, such as the STRIDE (Study of Treatment for Renal Insufficiency: Data and Evaluation) registry for chronic kidney disease. Under the leadership of prominent figures like Dr. Brian Pereira, the organization played a key role in bridging academic medicine and the biotechnology sector, contributing to clinical guidelines and the launch of therapeutics like Sensipar (cinacalcet). Today, it continues to operate as the primary physician organization for Tufts Medical Center, providing specialized tertiary and quaternary care and supporting the center's academic and research missions.
