New York United Hospital Medical Center was a prominent acute care hospital located in Port Chester, New York, serving the Westchester County community for over a century. Founded in 1889 as the Ladies' Hospital Association, it grew into a 200-plus bed facility providing emergency services, surgery, and specialized medical care. The center was a vital healthcare provider for the regions of Port Chester, Rye, and Harrison. However, following years of severe financial distress and declining occupancy, the hospital filed for bankruptcy and ceased all operations in 2005. The 15-acre campus has since remained a focal point for local redevelopment discussions.
