Newish Biotechnology is a private Chinese oncology-focused biotech developing first-in-class nucleic-acid therapeutics for early cancer treatment and cancer-associated viral disease. The company centers its R&D on the STARi nucleic acid drug platform and has built a pipeline spanning therapeutic DNA plasmid vaccines, mRNA therapeutic vaccines, and at least one cell therapy program. Its lead disclosed program, NWRD06, is a Glypican-3-targeted DNA plasmid vaccine for prevention of recurrence after curative resection in GPC3-positive hepatocellular carcinoma and has advanced into Phase 2. Other clinical programs include NWRD08, a therapeutic DNA vaccine for HPV16/18-related cervical HSIL, and NWRD09, an HPV-16-targeted mRNA therapeutic vaccine in Phase 1 studies across intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer. The company appears to operate primarily from Beijing with an affiliated Wuxi entity and additional Taizhou presence.
