Newport Laboratories

Newport Laboratories is a U.S. animal-health biotechnology company focused on veterinary diagnostics and custom-made autogenous vaccines for livestock, especially swine and cattle. The business develops and manufactures veterinary biologics tailored to farm-specific pathogen isolates and has also been associated with proprietary Siderophore Receptors and Porins (SRP) vaccine technology through its current parent group. Newport operates from Worthington, Minnesota, where it provides diagnostic testing, research and development, and USDA-licensed biologics manufacturing. The company was acquired first by Merial in 2012, later became part of Boehringer Ingelheim through the Merial transaction, and was subsequently acquired by Vaxxinova in late 2022. Today Newport appears to continue operating as an active brand/business within Vaxxinova US serving food-animal health customers.
