NexGen Medical Systems

NexGen Medical Systems was a medical technology company specializing in the development of advanced nitinol stent systems for interventional procedures. Based in Eagan, Minnesota, the company's primary product was the X-Suit, a self-expanding nitinol stent designed for the treatment of biliary obstructions and other vascular conditions. The company's technology focused on optimizing stent flexibility and radial strength through proprietary nitinol designs. In May 2014, NexGen Medical Systems was acquired by Vascular Solutions for an initial cash payment of $2 million plus future royalties. Following the acquisition of Vascular Solutions by Teleflex in 2017, NexGen's assets and intellectual property were integrated into the Teleflex interventional vascular portfolio.
