NextWindow was a New Zealand-based technology company specializing in optical touch screen solutions, primarily known for its patented optical imaging technology used in large-format displays. While primarily a hardware and software engineering firm, its high-precision touch overlays were widely adopted in the healthcare sector for medical imaging, diagnostic displays, and interactive patient kiosks. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Auckland, the company became a global leader in the touch technology market, supplying major OEMs such as HP, Dell, and Sony. NextWindow was acquired by SMART Technologies in 2010 for $82 million and was eventually integrated into the parent company's operations before the brand was retired in 2014.
