Company intelligence / Profile preview
Nexvet was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on transforming the therapeutic market for companion animals by developing species-specific monoclonal antibodies. The company utilized its proprietary PETization platform to rapidly design and create caninized or felinized antibodies that are recognized as self by the animal's immune system, minimizing the risk of immunogenicity. Its lead programs, targeting nerve growth factor (NGF) for the treatment of osteoarthritis pain in dogs and cats, were successfully developed and eventually commercialized by Zoetis as Librela and Solensia. Following its acquisition by Zoetis in 2017, Nexvet's technology and pipeline were integrated into the world's largest animal health company. The company's innovative approach bridged the gap between human biologics and veterinary medicine.
