Company intelligence / Profile preview
Niadyne Development is a biotechnology company specializing in the development of proprietary niacin-based compounds for skin health and therapeutic applications. The company's core technology, Pro-Niacin (myristyl nicotinate), is a lipophilic derivative of niacin designed to deliver nicotinic acid into the skin to stimulate DNA repair and strengthen the skin barrier. This technology works by increasing intracellular levels of NAD, which in turn activates Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), a key enzyme in the cellular response to DNA damage caused by UV radiation. Niadyne's research has led to the commercialization of the NIA 24 skincare line, which is widely used in clinical dermatology for the treatment of photodamage. Beyond cosmeceuticals, the company has advanced pharmaceutical programs targeting actinic keratosis and non-melanoma skin cancer prevention. Founded by academic researchers from the University of Arizona, Niadyne was acquired by StriVectin in 2014 and is now part of the Crown Laboratories portfolio.
