Nicolet Instrument Corporation was a pioneering manufacturer of high-precision analytical instruments and neurodiagnostic systems, most notably recognized for its leadership in Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Founded in Madison, Wisconsin, the company's technology became a global standard for chemical analysis, pharmaceutical research, and materials science. In 1992, the company was acquired by Thermo Electron (now Thermo Fisher Scientific), where the Nicolet brand continues to represent premier molecular spectroscopy solutions. Additionally, its neurodiagnostic division, Nicolet Biomedical, was later integrated into Natus Medical, continuing its legacy in clinical EEG and EMG technology.
