Company intelligence / Profile preview
Nigaard Pharma was a specialty pharmaceutical company headquartered in Oslo, Norway, that focused on the commercialization of respiratory and orphan disease treatments across the Nordic and Baltic regions. The company was best known for marketing Promixin (colistimethate sodium), an inhaled antibiotic used to treat chronic pulmonary infections in cystic fibrosis patients. In May 2015, Nigaard was acquired by the Italian pharmaceutical group Zambon to serve as its commercial platform in Northern Europe. This acquisition facilitated the regional launch of Zambon's Parkinson's disease therapy, Xadago (safinamide). Today, the entity operates as the Nordic affiliate of Zambon, managing its portfolio in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland.
