Company intelligence / Profile preview
Nihon BIOBASE was the Japanese subsidiary of BIOBASE GmbH, a leading global provider of biological databases and software for life science research. The company specialized in providing manually curated data and analysis tools, most notably the TRANSFAC database for gene regulation and the Human Gene Mutation Database (HGMD) for clinical genetics. These resources were essential for researchers in pharmaceutical companies and academia for drug discovery, systems biology, and genomic interpretation. In 2014, the parent company BIOBASE was acquired by QIAGEN, and Nihon BIOBASE's operations and product portfolio were integrated into QIAGEN's bioinformatics division, now known as QIAGEN Digital Insights.
