Nihon Tokushu Noyaku Seizo

Nihon Tokushu Noyaku Seizo, established in 1941, was a prominent Japanese company specializing in the development and manufacture of agricultural chemicals. Originally formed as a joint venture involving the German life sciences giant Bayer, the company focused on creating innovative crop protection solutions such as fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides tailored for the Japanese market. In 1991, it was renamed Nihon Bayer Agrochem to reflect its closer integration with the Bayer Group, and it was eventually merged into Bayer CropScience K.K. in 2002. The company is historically significant for commercializing major active ingredients like imidacloprid and flutolanil. Today, its legacy and research facilities continue to serve as the foundation for Bayer's agricultural operations and R&D efforts in Japan.
