Company intelligence / Profile preview
Nile Therapeutics, formerly known as Nile Pharmaceuticals, was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the development of novel therapeutics for heart failure and kidney disease. The company's primary asset was Cenderitide (CD-NP), a chimeric natriuretic peptide licensed from the Mayo Clinic that targeted both NPR-A and NPR-B receptors. Cenderitide was designed to provide the benefits of natriuretic peptides, such as vasodilation and diuresis, without the excessive hypotension often associated with existing treatments. In November 2013, the company completed a reverse merger with Capricor, Inc., resulting in the formation of Capricor Therapeutics.
