Nimbus Apollo

Nimbus Apollo was a clinical-stage biotechnology company and a subsidiary of Nimbus Therapeutics, dedicated to developing small molecule inhibitors of Acetyl-CoA Carboxylase (ACC). The company's primary asset, NDI-010976 (now known as firsocostat), was developed using a computational chemistry platform to target nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and related metabolic disorders. In May 2016, Gilead Sciences acquired Nimbus Apollo in a deal valued at up to $1.2 billion, including a $400 million upfront payment. This acquisition was a significant exit for Nimbus Therapeutics and highlighted the value of their structure-based drug discovery approach in the NASH space.
