NMDHB

Nelson Marlborough District Health Board (NMDHB), operating as Nelson Marlborough Health, was the public healthcare organization responsible for providing and funding health services in the Nelson, Tasman, and Marlborough regions of New Zealand. The board managed critical infrastructure, including Nelson Hospital and Wairau Hospital, and oversaw a comprehensive range of services including primary care, surgical, medical, maternity, and mental health care. Serving a regional population of approximately 160,000, NMDHB played a central role in the local healthcare ecosystem and participated in various clinical research initiatives. In July 2022, NMDHB was disestablished as part of a nationwide reform of the New Zealand health system, with its operations and assets integrated into the national entity, Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand.
