Company intelligence / Profile preview
Nomads is a biotechnology company based in Vilnius, Lithuania, specializing in the research and development of precision microbiome modulators. Originally founded in 2009 as a plant biotechnology company, Nomads shifted its focus in 2016 to antibacterial proteins, developing a unique library of bacteriocins and endolysins to selectively target pathogens without disrupting the commensal microbiome. The company's lead product candidates include AcneBac, a bacteriophage-derived protein targeting Cutibacterium acnes for skincare, and various chimeric bacteriocins (such as S5-PmnH and KvarM) targeting multidrug-resistant pathogens like Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Nomads also offers KutiSwab, a skin microbiome sequencing and ribotyping service that provides personalized skincare recommendations. Formerly a wholly-owned subsidiary of Germany's Nomad Bioscience GmbH, Nomads was spun off as an independent company in 2025.
