Nomos Corporation was a pioneering medical technology company that revolutionized radiation oncology through the development of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). The company's flagship PEACOCK system was the first commercially available solution to provide precise, computer-controlled radiation delivery, allowing for higher doses to tumors while sparing adjacent healthy tissue. Nomos played a critical role in establishing the clinical standards for inverse treatment planning and serial tomotherapy. Following its acquisition by North American Scientific in 2004, its technologies were integrated into broader oncology portfolios, eventually becoming part of Best Theratronics.
