Company intelligence / Profile preview
Northern Berkshire Health Systems was a non-profit healthcare organization that served as the primary medical provider for the northern Berkshire County region in Massachusetts. The system operated North Adams Regional Hospital, along with affiliated visiting nurse associations and hospice services. It provided a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, acute care, surgical services, and primary care. In March 2014, the organization filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and abruptly ceased operations, leading to the closure of its hospital and affiliated practices. Following the bankruptcy, most of its assets and service lines were acquired by Berkshire Health Systems, which eventually restored emergency and inpatient services to the community.
