Company intelligence / Profile preview
Novartis Consumer Health was a global leader in the over-the-counter (OTC) healthcare sector, operating as a key division of Novartis. The company specialized in developing and marketing high-quality self-care products across therapeutic areas such as pain management, respiratory health, and dermatology. Its portfolio featured iconic brands like Voltaren, Excedrin, Theraflu, and Lamisil, which achieved significant market share worldwide. In 2015, the division was merged into a joint venture with GSK's consumer business as part of a multi-billion dollar asset swap. Novartis later sold its minority stake in the venture to GSK in 2018 for $13 billion. The business assets eventually became part of Haleon, an independent consumer healthcare company, following its demerger from GSK in 2022.
