Company intelligence / Profile preview
NovaScreen Biosciences was a prominent contract research organization (CRO) specializing in molecular pharmacology and drug discovery services. Founded in 1986, the company provided high-throughput screening, profiling, and safety pharmacology services to the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. They were widely recognized for their extensive library of receptor binding assays and their proprietary database of drug-receptor interactions, which helped clients identify potential side effects and off-target activities early in the development process. In 2005, NovaScreen was acquired by Caliper Life Sciences to integrate its screening expertise with Caliper's microfluidic and imaging technologies. Following Caliper's acquisition by PerkinElmer in 2011, NovaScreen's capabilities became part of the PerkinElmer discovery services portfolio.
