Company intelligence / Profile preview
Novipharm was a prominent international pharmaceutical company specializing in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of generic medicines. Originally founded in Canada in 1964 by Leslie Dan, the company expanded its operations globally, establishing Novipharm Arzneimittel GmbH in Berlin to manage its German and European interests. The company was well-regarded for its extensive portfolio of high-quality generic drugs, covering therapeutic areas such as infectious diseases, cardiology, and oncology. In 2000, Novipharm was acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries for approximately $560 million, a strategic move that bolstered Teva's position as a global leader in the generic pharmaceutical industry. Following the acquisition, Novipharm's facilities and product lines were integrated into Teva's global operations, and the Novipharm brand was eventually retired.
