NovoLumen was a medical technology company that developed advanced interventional tools for the treatment of complex vascular diseases. The company's flagship product was a smart guidewire that integrated Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) to provide real-time, high-resolution imaging from within the blood vessel. This technology was designed to assist interventional cardiologists and vascular surgeons in navigating and crossing Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO), which are complete blockages of arteries that are difficult to treat with standard techniques. By improving visualization at the tip of the guidewire, NovoLumen aimed to increase the success rate of minimally invasive procedures and reduce the need for more invasive bypass surgeries.
