Company intelligence / Profile preview
NRP Therapeutics was a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel therapeutics targeting Neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) and Neuropilin-2 (NRP-2) for the treatment of cancer and other diseases. Founded in 2004 based on research from Boston Children's Hospital, the company explored the role of neuropilins as co-receptors for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and their involvement in angiogenesis and tumor cell survival. Its pipeline included both monoclonal antibodies and small peptides designed to disrupt neuropilin signaling pathways. In October 2007, NRP Therapeutics was acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries for approximately $12.5 million upfront plus potential milestones. This acquisition was part of Teva's strategy to expand its innovative biologics and oncology portfolio.
