Overview
NsGene developed an encapsulated cell therapy platform to deliver biologics directly to the brain for the treatment of neurological disorders. Its lead candidate, targeting p75NTR for Alzheimer’s disease, reached Phase 1 clinical trials. Other programs included recombinant human meteorin for Huntington's disease and neublastin/GDNF-based therapies for sciatica and Parkinson's; some have been discontinued. The company partnered with Takeda on GDNF delivery in Parkinson's and completed initial clinical studies in Alzheimer's[2][4][5].
