NuCycle Therapy

NuCycle Therapy, Inc. was a biotechnology company specializing in "plant molecular farming," utilizing plants as bioreactors to produce therapeutic proteins and high-value nutraceuticals. The company developed a proprietary platform for the transient expression of recombinant proteins and the hydroponic cultivation of mineral-enriched plants, such as Brassica juncea. Its clinical pipeline included plant-derived vaccines for anthrax and malaria, developed in collaboration with the U.S. Navy and Fraunhofer USA. Additionally, NuCycle commercialized a line of phytomineral supplements, including selenium-enriched products for cancer chemoprevention. The company was acquired by Integrated BioPharma in 2002 and continued to operate as a subsidiary focused on biotechnology and nutritional products.
