Numico Research

Numico Research was the dedicated research and development arm of Royal Numico, a Dutch multinational specializing in baby food and medical nutrition. The organization focused on the discovery and clinical validation of nutritional concepts for vulnerable populations, including infants, the elderly, and patients with chronic diseases. Key areas of expertise included the human microbiome, immunology, and metabolic health, supporting global brands such as Nutricia, Milupa, and Cow & Gate. In 2007, Royal Numico was acquired by Danone for approximately $17 billion, leading to the integration of Numico Research into Danone Nutricia Research. Today, its legacy continues through Danone's specialized nutrition division, maintaining a major research hub in Utrecht, Netherlands.
