Company intelligence / Profile preview
Nuprim was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of iclaprim, a novel diaminopyrimidine antibiotic. Founded in 2014 by former executives of Arpida AG, Nuprim acquired the rights to iclaprim from Acino Pharma and Life Sciences Management Group. In April 2015, the company merged with Motif Bio. Under Motif Bio's stewardship, iclaprim completed Phase 3 trials for acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI), demonstrating non-inferiority to vancomycin. However, it failed to obtain FDA approval in 2019 due to safety concerns regarding liver toxicity.
