Ohio Soybean Council

Ohio Soybean Council is the state soybean checkoff organization for Ohio and operates as a farmer-governed nonprofit focused on soybean research, promotion, education, product development, and market development. Founded in 1991, the organization manages Ohio's Soybean Promotion and Research Program, collecting checkoff funds from soybean sales and directing investments intended to improve profitability for Ohio soybean farmers. Its activities span domestic and international market development, commercialization support for soy-based products, communications and education programs, and funding of soybean agronomy and utilization research. The council is not a biotech, pharma, or healthcare company and does not appear to run a therapeutic pipeline. It works closely with the broader soybean ecosystem, including the United Soybean Board and Ohio Soybean Association, under the "Soy Ohio" brand umbrella.
