Oklahoma Capital Investment Board

The Oklahoma Capital Investment Board (OCIB) is a quasi-governmental agency established by the State of Oklahoma to mobilize equity and near-equity capital for Oklahoma businesses. It operates primarily as a "fund of funds," investing in venture capital and private equity funds that, in turn, invest in companies across various sectors, including biotechnology and healthcare. OCIB utilizes a unique tax credit program to guarantee investments, aiming to foster economic development and job creation within the state. While not a life sciences company itself, it has been a significant source of indirect funding for Oklahoma's emerging biotech ecosystem. The board is currently managed under the administrative umbrella of the Oklahoma Development Finance Authority.
